Both breed behavior and dog care are aspects that should be taken into account before buying or adopting a puppy. So how to take care of a Siberian Husky dog? To help answer this question, we talked to tutor Juliana Felix, who has three specimens of the breed. See the tips she passed!
How is living with a Siberian Husky?
Everyone who is interested in this little dog is curious to know what it is like to live with a Husky dog every day. Tutor Juliana lives in Rio de Janeiro with three dogs of the breed with different colors - a Siberian Husky white and brown; and two other Huskies with white and gray coat. There are two females, one named Diana (4 years old) and the other Dianinha (3 years old), and the male named Lobinho, also a Husky.About the Husky's behavior, the tutor comments: "The three are very agitated. The only one who has a slightly calmer temperament is Diana, but she still has moments of agitation ".
Another characteristic that usually accompanies the Siberian Husky is stubbornness. It is not something that happens on purpose, but, being a large dog, the Husky is full of energy and therefore often ends up not listening to the commands and orders of the guardian. Despite this, living with a Husky dog is quite peaceful and is something worthwhile, as Juliana reports: "All three are wellstubborn, but coexistence is not difficult because they are very loving and affectionate".
The Siberian Husky dog needs environmental enrichment to expend energy
Being an active and very energetic dog, the tutor needs to have an adequate routine to meet the needs of the Siberian Husky. Environmental enrichment with toys is a good option, but it is important that the material of the toys is very resistant so as not to be destroyed or spoiled easily, since the Husky dog often has no idea of his own strength. In addition, frequent walks are a good option.are necessary, especially in the case of those who do not have a yard or appropriate space for the Husky to expend energy.
Tutor Juliana explains that her Huskies live on the terrace at home and the routine of walks varies from 2 to 4 times a week. In addition, the family sets aside time to play with the dogs on a daily basis: "We always play with them and try to give them toys, but they destroy everything very quickly. They like to spend time playing with us or with each other ".
Bathing, brushing, feeding... what care is indispensable in the Siberian Husky's routine?
Every puppy needs a series of basic care, and with the Siberian Husky this is no different. In addition to offering a quality ration, it is important to encourage the hydration of pets and take care of the hygiene of the furry, with bathing and grooming. "They bathe once a month because they don't usually get smelly. We brush our hair from time to time and grooming we don't need to do much.It is also worth mentioning that the Husky dog goes through a process of changing its coat, which usually happens between spring and summer and then between autumn and winter. During this period, brushing should be done daily.
Regarding food, Juliana says that her Husky puppies eat the indicated amount per day, without exaggeration. "We also try to please them with ice cubes because they love to lick ice cubes." Finally, it is also important to follow up with a veterinarian to check on the health of the Siberian Husky.

The Siberian Husky is stubborn by nature, but it is not an impossible mission to try to change that. The correct training makes all the difference at these times, but the tutor must be very persistent to deal with the breed's stubbornness when teaching basic dog obedience commands. Dogs have a very different learning process than ours, so it is important to have patience and persistence to teach them the basic commands."Diana had a bit of training as a puppy, which is why she is the most 'obedient' among them," the tutor shares.
How is the behavior of the Husky dog with other people and animals?
The Siberian Husky is a very loving and docile dog with its family, it is easy to make friends with children, but it tends to be a little suspicious around strangers. To prevent this from happening, socialization is essential at any stage of the dog's life - but it is even better if it is done with the Siberian Husky puppy. In the case of Juliana's tutor, the three Huskies are super friendlywith any person or animal: "They are great with other dogs and people. Sometimes they can be scary because they are rough, but they have never growled or had an aggressive attitude with anyone. They are very nice with other puppies too and socialize very well with our smaller dogs."
Siberian Husky: price of the breed can reach R $ 5 thousand
It is practically impossible not to fall for the charms of such a puppy, but before buying a Siberian Husky, value must be taken into account. The price of the breed will depend on a number of factors, such as the sex and lineage of the animal. But, in general, it is possible to find puppies of the breed in a price range between R $ 2 thousand and R $ 5 thousand in reliable kennels. It is worth noting that,In addition to this amount, the guardian must think about all the monthly expenses that accompany a puppy, such as food, hygiene, vaccinations, trips to the vet and other things. Therefore, it is essential to make a conscious choice before opening the doors of your home to a pet like the Siberian Husky.
